A dismal sales slump would have all but put the fortunes of Apple in tatters if it wasn\u2019t for some early outstanding performance from the iPhone 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the latest report from global technology market analyst firm&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canalys.com\/newsroom\/apple-grows-40-after-six-consecutive-quarters-decline-china\">Canalys<\/a>, Apple recorded 40% growth in Q3 of 2017 with an impressive 11 million shipments during the quarter. Interestingly, the iPhone 8 accounted for a higher proportion of overall sales than the iPhone 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"738\" height=\"492\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/cover-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-48777\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/cover-4.jpg 738w, https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/cover-4-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/cover-4-630x420.jpg 630w, https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/cover-4-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/cover-4-696x464.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 738px) 100vw, 738px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This will come as a shot in the arm for Apple whose growth in China has been down by more than 50 percent from two years ago.\u00a0One would think with the imminent launch of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/amazing-aspects-new-apple-iphone-x\/\">iPhone X<\/a> Apple would maintain its upward swing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Albeit that is not the case though. Factors such as iPhone X&#8217;s steep pricing structure and supply hassles could be inhibitors in Apple&#8217;s growth chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/oneplus-5t-specs-plus-design-leaked\/\">(Also read:&nbsp;OnePlus 5T specs and design leaked! However, it is being challenged by fast-growing markets like India and Southeast Asia. India alone overtook the U.S. on shipment numbers in Q3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"680\" height=\"386\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/report.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-48776\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/report.png 680w, https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/report-300x170.png 300w, https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/report-150x85.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Data suggests that growth in the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biztechpost.com\/worlds-first-4g-smartphone-with-four-cameras-honor-9i-launched-for-rs-17999\/\"> smartphone<\/a> market in China has topped out. This is why, Apple and many other Chinese smartphone makers are turning their sights towards comparatively smaller but rapidly expanding markets like India and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the same report, Apple was ranked fifth based on the number of shipments and growth trajectory in China. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huawei.com\/\">Huawei<\/a> leads the race with 22 million shipments, closely followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oppo.com\/in\/\">Oppo<\/a> (21 million) and Vivo (20 million).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Xiaomi was ranked fourth.
